Lucas said "I am your father" to Everest Hobson Lucas; his first child with new wife Mellody Hobson
George Lucas has become a father for the fourth time, and for the first time with his new wife Mellody Hobson, with their daughter on was born on Friday 9 August. Everest Hobson Lucas was born via surrogate, the Skywalker Ranch confirmed to various news outlets on Monday (12 August), and the baby is said to be in a healthy condition.

The newlyweds, who married in June this year, made no prior announcement that they were expecting a child, with the announcement from Lucas' representatives being the first word that a youngster was on it's way. Lucas also has two other daughters; Amanda, 32 and Katie, 25 as well as a 20-year-old son, Jett.
The 69-year-old Star Wars creator and Hobson, 44, who is president of Ariel Investments and chairman of the board for DreamWorks Animation, wedded in a celebrity-filled bash in June this year in Marin County, California, having dated since 2006. Lucas was previously married to film editor Marcia Lou Griffin from 1969 to 1983. Hobson's marriage to Lucas is her first.

Lucas will probably have a lot more time on his hands to spend with his newborn, having sold his production company, Lucasfilm Ltd., to the Walt Disney Company for $4.05 billion last October. He is expected to continue making contributions to the films that Disney acquired with the purchase, including the upcoming Star Wars re-boot, which is being helmed by Star Trek director JJ Abrams. Filming on the Star Wars Episode VII is expected to begin in 2014.
