Country star George Jones has cancelled two upcoming shows after he was admitted to hospital in Tennessee on Thursday (18Apr13).
The Door hitmaker, 81, checked into a Nashville medical facility for observation after he was diagnosed with a fever and irregular blood pressure during a routine check-up, according to his publicist.
Jones has cancelled a concert in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday (19Apr13) as well as a show in Salem, Virginia on Saturday (20Apr13). Both gigs are expected to be rescheduled.
The singer has battled ongoing respiratory problems over the past few years, and last November (12), he cancelled a concert in Minnesota after falling ill with a virus.
The country singer is currently on his farewell tour and plans to perform his final concert on 22 November at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.
