George Clooney's ex-girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis has opened up about the pair's time together, insisting their romance was "more of a father-daughter relationship".
Clooney and the Italian model ended their two-year romance in June (11), and now the beauty is speaking out for the first time about the reasons behind their break-up.
Canalis reveals the pair was deeply in love and, contrary to media speculation, were not torn apart due to their differing views on marriage.
As revealed in Italian journalist Bruno Vespa's new book Questo Amore, she says, "George and I never spoke of marriage nor of having kids... I don't put limits to the possibility of having them, but neither George nor I had ever envisaged having kids together. The end of the relationship was not caused by a marriage issue, but instead by our personal needs."
And Canalis confesses her partnership with the Hollywood hunk was "more of a father-daughter relationship," which she "was unable to clarify...'til now".
Explaining her remarks, she adds, "(He was) the person who valued my feminine side the most... He has been special for me, and very important, just as a father would be."
