Gene Simmons and his long-time partner Shannon Tweed have played down talk they are engaged to be married, despite the rocker proposing during Tuesday's episode of 'Gene Simmons' Family Jewels' (26th July 2011).
In the season finale of the reality show, the Kiss front-man whisks the former Playboy model away to Belize to pop the question, telling her, "I come with so much baggage, but you're the only friend I've got. You're the only one I love...and you're the only one I ever will love". However, audiences were left none-the-wiser as the episode came to its conclusion before Shannon responded to the proposal. Some Twitter users had suggested Tweed could be seen wearing an engagement ring during the final 'couch interviews', but speaking on her Twitter page the model told followers, "And to everyone who thinks they know - I Am Not wearing an engagement ring in the couch interviews. Just an every day ring. Sorry". Tweeting regularly throughout the episode, Gene echoed the comments, telling fans, "Shannon and I work on our relationship every day. One day at a time. Thanks for watching. When we figure out our lives, you will know".
The couple, who have been relationship for over 20 years, have two children together - Nick and Sophie. Simmons was previously romantically involved with singers Cher and DIANA ROSS.
