Gavin Degraw doesn't "remember much" about his attack.

The ' I Don't Wanna Be' hitmaker - who suffered a broken nose and cuts to his face after he was attacked by a group of "unknown males" in New York City in the early hours of Sunday morning (07.08.11) - was released from Bellevue Hospital yesterday (09.08.11), but he still is unsure of exactly what happened.

He wrote on twitter: "Hi my friends. Honestly, I don't remember much. I only know I can recover from here. Thank u all for your genuine concern. I love u guys. (sic)"

After being attacked, the 34-year-old singer walked to 19th Street and 1st Avenue in the city where he was hit by a cab, and although his injuries from the accident were not thought to be serious, he was immediately taken to hospital by ambulance.

A statement from his publicist yesterday revealed police are currently investigating the assault and added that Gavin would cancel some planned tour dates this week.

It said: "He suffers from a concussion, broken nose, black eyes, cuts and bruises. The police are conducting an investigation of the attack.

"Gavin and his family appreciate everyone's concern at this time.

"As a result of Gavin's injuries, he won't be performing in Wantagh, New York, on August 12 or Mansfield, Massachusetts, on August 13."
