Late last month (Feb13), belongings from the rock legend's archive were sold to the public at a garage sale staged by Kingston, New York landlord Mike Piazza, who claimed Hudson owed him more than $50,000 (Gbp31,250) in storage space fees.
He was planning to sell more stuff at an auction, but a New York judge has granted Hudson and his wife Maud a temporary restraining order, which prevents the sale of items at a planned 6 April (13) auction.

Veteran rocker Garth Hudson has lost thousands of dollars worth of belongings after reportedly failing to pay his rent.
The Band star's landlord sold off memorabilia at a garage sale in New York over the weekend (23Feb13) in an effort to recoup rent payments the keyboard player allegedly owed.
The Times Herald-Record reports Hudson kept the loft space for storage, but stopped paying rent six months after he took it on in 2002.

Twilight star and teen heart-throb Robert Pattinson has reportedly signed up to star in a biopic about the rock group The Band, according to an interview the actor gave for French magazine les inRockuptibles.
The legendary band were especially prolific in the late 60's and 70's, recording such hits as 'The Weight' during their time together. The Band was founded by musicians Rick Danko, Levon Helm, Garth Hudson, Richard Manuel and Robbie Robertson and was famed for their numerous performances alongside Bob Dylan, as well as working with Van Morrison, amongst others, from time to time.

Musician Levon Helm has died.
The singer and drummer with influential US group The Band - who famously backed Bob Dylan in the 60s - passed away today (19.04.12), two days after his family announced he was losing a battle against throat cancer.
His family said in a statement: ''Levon passed peacefully this afternoon.

Cult rocker Evan Dando's the Lemonheads will make their live comeback with two UK shows later this month (JUL06) after recording a new album with DINOSAUR JR star J MASCIS and the BAND's Garth Hudson.
Dando has recruited bass player JOSH LATTANZI and drummer JOHN KENT as the nucleus for new group and will perform at Britain's Latitude Festival on 14 July (06) and in London two days later.
The Lemonheads' self-titled new album was recorded on a ranch in Colorado.
Unfortunately, the Band's music didn't have much influence on the way future music would develop. But The Last Waltz, a concert film of the Band's 1976 farewell performance, remains an essential artwork. The film is a reminder that while they lasted, the Band (guitarist Robbie Robertson, drummer Levon Helm, keyboardists Garth Hudson and Richard Manuel, and bassist Rick Danko) was as good as any group in rock history.
