Tragedy marred the Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, California yesterday (04MAR06) when film-maker IAN OLDS took to the stage to pay tribute to his partner GARRETT SCOTT, 37, who died of a heart attack two days before the event. He explained, "I didn't want to come but I came for him, to honour him and the work we did together... I loved him like a brother, I miss him already."
