On 8th November 2011 the gaming world will explode into life with the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The Call of Duty franchise is one of the biggest in gaming history, selling over 50 million copies of their games, and MW3 looks set to continue the success. With previous hits such as CoD: Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 and last year's CoD: Black Ops, MW3 appears ready to break more records.

Playing as various characters throughout the campaign, including two new playable characters, Delta Force troops 'Frost' and 'Sandman', MW3 picks up where MW2 left off, with the US under attack from Russian forces. The campaign then takes you all over the world, through London, Paris, New York an even Dubai, setting you up for an extensive and scenic story mode.

MW3 is developed by Infinity Ward, apart from the Wii and DS versions of the game, like the rest of the MW series, as opposed Black Ops, which is developed by Treyarch. The rivalry still splits opinion among CoD fans, whether it be the co-operability of Treyarch's Nazi Zombies, or the enthralling campaign and great visuals belonging to Infinity Ward, there is always some argument as to who is the better of the two developers.

Anyway, the main source of debate surrounding the release of the latest CoD, is between Battlefield and CoD fans, about which game will be better. All over the internet people are stating how poor they think the new CoD will be, in comparison to the upcoming Battlefield 3, mainly due to Battlefield's upgrade to the Frostbite 2 game engine. Also, the game play footage released of Battlefield 3 looks pretty spectacular...

However, Call of duty HQ needn't worry as Tom Devine of GAME recently stated: "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 pre-orders are already tracking significantly ahead of Call of Duty: Black Ops at the same time last year". Not too disheartening to say Black Ops was the best selling video game of all time. This came with the news that GAME pre-orders of the game will get you the first DLC package free. 'The Intel Pack' is exclusive to Game and includes a British Special Forces avatar available on both Xbox 360 and PS3. Along with this, you'll receive a mini strategy guide, put together by Brady, the authors of the MW2 strategy guide.

Once again, Call of Duty is set to smash records with another huge hit. It's going to be tough to stop them.
