Singer Gabriella Cilmi is urging men and women to undergo regular breast cancer checks, after losing her grandmother to the disease.
The Sweet About Me hitmaker's family has been blighted by the illness - her mother survived a cancer battle 10 years ago, and her grandfather was also diagnosed with the disease.
And she is encouraging her fans to get themselves checked out regularly to aid the early detection of cancerous cells.
Cilmi tells Scotland's Sunday Mail, "My mum had breast cancer when she was 35. She is 45 now and she has been cleared of it. My grandmother passed away from it so it is something in my family that is close to our hearts. My mum is a great story for women who are diagnosed with breast cancer. She was so young when she got it but she has overcome it and is healthy and strong now.
"You hear so many terrible stories but not many success stories. My grandfather had breast cancer too. He got it in his old age. It is not just something women get... I exercise and eat well but anyone should be aware and get tests whether you have a history of breast cancer or not."
