Gabriel Bruce's debut solo single, Sleep Paralysis, will be released on December 5th on Off Modern Records. The single release will also include a 50 page book, written by Gabriel Bruce himself, on the strange phenomenon known as sleep paralysis (where your brain wakes up before your body while you are asleep).
The black and white video for Sleep Paralysis was directed by Ferry Gouw. In between shots of a girl sleeping, we see Gabriel dancing and a wounded man on a large rock.
Gabriel is best known for being the frontman of British band Loverman, which disbanded in 2009. His solo single sees him going in a completely different direction to the sound of his former band, with critics comparing him to Leonard Cohen and Johnny Cash. The 50 page book provided with every single release is a Dada-inspired volume of poetry, illustrations, medical notes and personal accounts of the sleep paralysis condition that Gabriel sings about.
The album is the first in history to chart without selling a single copy.
The musician passed away while performing with his band OHM in LA.
Earlier this month a twitter campaign asking Disney to make Elsa their first LGBT princess in the ‘Frozen’ sequel went viral.
