Gabourey Sidibe, the 24-year old Oscar nominated actress, is set to star alongside Ben Stiller in the forthcoming action-comedy movie, 'Tower Heist', reports Entertainment Weekly.
The film, which also features Alan Alda and Eddie Murphy, sees Stiller playing the manager of a luxury high-rise building who loses his pension to a scheme orchestrated by a wealthy Wall Street trader. Brett Ratner, whose previous credits include directing 'Red Dragon' and 'X-Men: The Last Stand', will get behind the camera for the movie. Sidibe, who was nominated for an ACADEMY AWARD for her performance in the 2009 drama 'Precious', is currently starring in the Showtime series 'The Big C'.
Sidibe's new role may come as a surprise to radio host Howard Stern who, back in March 2010, famously said, "Everyone's pretending she's (Sidibe) a part of show business and she's never going to be in another movie". As well as 'Tower Heist', Sidibe is also set to star in the upcoming drama movie, 'Yelling to the Sky', due for release in 2011.
