Gabby Young - I've Improved

British octet Gabby Young & Other Animals unleash their third album 'One Foot In Front Of The Other', set for release on April 28th 2014 through Gift of the Gab Records. For now, they present us with their new video for single 'I've Improved' out February 24th 2014.

The band become paper puppets in the black and white 20s style video - appropriate for the eerie, cabaret-esque sound from the multi-instrumentalists. There's a strong classic jazz feel to it that is given a unique twist with an acoustic guitar and ukulele coupled with modern lyricism. Ironically, Gabby thinks 'I've Improved' marks an all-round improvement to the band's sound. 'It's definitely a step up from the last album', she says. 'I think I'm maturing with each record. This one is more introspective and it's definitely the most vulnerable I've been.'

While the music is timeless, the songs are inwardly very relevant reflecting Gabby's personal struggles, and deepest conflicts and emotions. 'The songs are very personal', she explains. 'There are some things I'm singing about here I wouldn't talk about to my closest friends, which I know is silly, as I'm telling everyone.' Gabby and the band are playing SXSW once again in March 2014 and have several live dates coming up elsewhere in the US, in Europe and in the UK.
