Veteran British comedian Freddie Starr has been arrested for a second time by officers investigating the Jimmy Savile sex abuse scandal.

The Tv star was taken into custody and quizzed over new sexual offence allegations on Wednesday (24Apr13) - five months after his previous arrest in November (12).

Starr is one of several well known British celebrities who have been questioned as part of Operation Yewtree, which was sparked by a flood of accusations of abuse against Savile following his death in 2012.

The investigation has been split into three parts - the allegations against Savile, allegations against Savile and others, and those against others. Starr's first arrest over claims he groped a 14-year-old girl were linked to Savile, the latest arrest stems from the investigation into other alleged offences, according to reports.

Starr has vehemently denied any wrongdoing.
