Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos is eternally grateful to independent record label GUIDED MISSILE, because he believes his band would have folded without its help.

The TAKE ME OUT musicians had trouble raising money for a recording session when they first started out, and almost gave up before they hit the big time.

But Guided Missile boss PAUL KEARNEY stepped in for aid.

Kapranos says, "Our enthusiasm for putting out music wouldn't have survived without people like him (Paul Kearney).

"When we were in commercially unviable bands he was willing to put up three of his own paychecks to let us put a record out. You wouldn't get that at a major (record label)."
