Scottish rockers Franz Ferdinand have agreed to headline a gig in their native Glasgow next month (19FEB05) to raise funds for victims of December's (04) Indian Ocean tsunami.
The concert has been tipped as one of the biggest moments in Scottish music history, and is expected to raise at least $475,000 (GBP250,000) for the DISASTERS EMERGENCY COMMITTEE (DEC) and the TSUNAMI EARTHQUAKE APPEAL.
A spokesperson for the CONCERT FOR TSUNAMI RELIEF says, "February 19th 2005 will go down as one of the most incredible nights in Scottish music history.
"We've been amazed by the huge generosity of the artists, the venue and the various operators in the live music scene in Scotland who are giving their time and facilities to raise money for the DEC appeal.
"With this fantastic line up now announced, we are urging music fans to buy tickets as quickly as possible to contribute to a very worthwhile cause and to make sure that they are part of this unique and exciting event."25/01/2005 09:37
