Multi-award winning rockers Franz Ferdinand plan to retreat to the peace
and quiet of their native Scottish countryside to record their
hugely-anticipated second album.
Frontman Alex Kapranos recently splashed out $760,000 (GBP400,000) on a
farmhouse which is being partially transformed into a state-of-the-art
recording studio - and the TAKE ME OUT hitmakers hope the idyllic surroundings
will inspire their
Kapranos tells MTV.COM, "We've been writing songs for the last while.
We're going to write a few more and then we're looking forward to retreating
into the Scottish countryside and recording an album.
Guitarist NICHOLAS McCARTHY adds, "We've had a bit of time to rehearse the
last few weeks and it's sounding great."
Franz Ferdinand's follow-up to their eponymously-titled debut disc is
scheduled to be released in the autumn (05).
