Feted Sunderland based five-piece, Frankie & The Heartstrings will release a new single, That Girl, That Scene on August 26th. The single is the next track to be taken from their second album, 'The Days Run Away', which was released last month. The band are also pleased to announce that the record store they opened in their home town in May, Pop Recs Ltd will continue to be a full time concern for the foreseeable future.
'That Girl, That Scene' is a whirling dervish of a song: two and a half minutes of frenetic exposition in the vein of barnstorming 7" wonders previously delivered by the likes of The Ramones, Bill Haley and Orange Juice. A self-lacerating tale of late night adventures and an ode to the alluring qualities of the fairer sex, it's the the latest in a long line of dance floor coruscating songs that the band have made their name with.
The single will be available as a very limited 7" with hand printed and numbered sleeves at Pop Recs Ltd, and also to purchase digitally, on August 26th and comes backed with a new composition, 'Summer'.
'That Girl, That Scene' is released the week following the band's appearance at Reading & Leeds Festival this August bank holiday. The follow Reading & Leeds with an intimate show at London's Birthdays on August 29th.
