German actress Franka Potente likens her relationships with directors to "marriage", because of the intensity of the union.
The 30-year-old especially felt wed to director Chris Smith on the set of horror flick CREEP, as they enjoyed a highly verbal partnership.
Potente says, "I don't care if it is a first-time director or not. I always appreciate directors who write their own stuff.
"It doesn't matter who they are. What is important is to meet and talk a little bit.
"Meeting directors is like going out on a first date, pretty much all the communication that you need for a relationship, you need to have with a director.
"When you make a film, it is like you are getting married for three months. Luckily Chris Smith did not claim all of the marriage rights."30/09/2004 14:23
