Frank Sivero's Lawsuit Over The Simpsons Dismissed

Frank Sivero

Sivero filed suit against Fox Television Studios bosses in October (14), claiming The Simpsons' wiseguy character Louie is based on his portrayal of ill-fated mobster Frankie Carbone in Martin Scorsese's gangster movie Goodfellas.

He alleged a group of writers on The Simpsons got the idea for mob henchman Louie while they were living next door to the actor in California in 1989, when he was preparing for the role in the classic 1990 film. Louie made his debut on the cartoon series in 1991 and has appeared in more than a dozen episodes.

Fox executives denied the accusations in March (15) and asked a Los Angeles judge to dismiss the lawsuit, and on Thursday (06Aug15), they got their wish.

Goodfellas Vs The Simpsons: 'Goodfellas' Actor To Sue Fox Over The Simpsons Mob Character

The Simpsons Frank Sivero

'The Simpsons' face a lawsuit of $250 million after Frank Sivero, who plays wiseguy Frankie Carbone in Martin Scorsese's gangster movie 'Goodfellas', claims the show stole his likeness for a recurring character.

The cartoon comedy series often uses celebrity likenesses in cameo roles for humorous effect, but Sivero is hoping he'll get the last laugh as he puts forward a multi-million dollar suit claiming the 'Simpsons' character - referred to as Louie - has contributed to him being typecast and is a fraudulent use of a role created and developed by Sivero himself for 'Goodfellas'.

Foolish Review

Bad
Eddie Griffin plays Foolish Waise (har har!), a comic enlisted to help his brother (Master P) open up a new stand-up club. Pretty much a bad excuse to work in stand-up material courtesy of Griffin, scenes with Andrew Dice Clay, and buxom, naked chicks.

Little Nicky Review

Excellent
For better or for worse (mostly for the worse) Adam Sandler's back on the big screen. And it's pure, satanic family fun.

Little Nicky (Adam Sandler) is the devil's third---and least impressive---son. Bested in brains by his brother Adrian (Rhys Ifans) and in strength by his brother Cassius (Tiny Lester), Nicky finds little joy outside of hanging out in his hell-bound bedroom, banging his head to heavy metal favorites. That is, until his father's 10,000-year reign draws to a close and it's time to name the new ruler of Hades.
