Frank Ocean 's debut album 'Channel Orange' has reached No.2 in the Billboard 200 chart.
Selling 131,000 copies within its first week on iTunes, Ocean has overtaken Justin Bieber's 'Believe' and nearly reached the high sales of Chris Brown and his fifth album 'Fortune' which was top of the charts last week with 135,000. This is despite big American store Target banning the 'Channel Orange' record due to the Odd Future singer debuting it a week too early in a bid to prevent leaks, following in the footsteps of fellow R'n'B artists Jay Z and Kanye West with their album 'Watch the Throne'. Ocean came second only to Zac Brown Band's 'Uncaged' (which zoomed to number one with an impressive sales count of 234,000 according to Nielsen SoundScan) but 'Channel Orange' hasn't even been released on compact disc yet so an upsurge in sales is expected once it hits the shops on Tuesday (July 24th 2012).
Coming in at number three is the teen sensation Justin Bieber and 'Believe' followed by Chris Brown at number four and Maroon 5's 'Overexposed' completing the chart's top five. Linkin Park, One Direction, Adele, Katy Perry and Kenny Chesney's albums were included in the top ten.
