Jason Reitman and Diablo Cody, the duo behind acclaimed indie hit Juno, are to reunite for a new horror movie.
The pair won the best film award at the recent Rome film festival for Juno, which was also runner-up for the audience award at the Toronto international film festival.
And after their critically lauded comic tale of a teen pregnancy, Reitman and Cody are to team up again for comedy horror Jennifer's Body, the Hollywood Reporter claims.
Telling of a demonically-possessed cheerleader, the movie will star Transformers actress Megan Fox and is set to begin shooting in late winter.
Reitman's production partner Dan Dubiecki told the trade paper that Cody's script had hooked their interest, just as it did with Juno.
"We're here because Diablo's voice and our voice align," he commented.
And Reitman - son of 80s directing great Ivan - added: "Comedy and horror have always been inescapable cousins.
"They both draw a similar type of storyteller, one who wants to manipulate the audience," he explained. "Whether you want to make an audience laugh or you want to make an audience freak out, you're looking for a similar firsthand relationship with the viewer where you are pushing them to react.
"We want to make unusual films, and anything that turns a genre on its ear interests Dan and I," he continued.
"And if you look at Bonzai, Juno and Jennifer's Body, they bring a new voice to genres people are very aware of."
Juno opens in the UK on February 1st 2008.
