Outkast returned home to Georgia for their stint at CounterPoint Festival 2014 - and fans were a lot more pleased this time round than they were at their comeback gig at Coachella.

Nothing was going to spoil the mood at this year's CounterPoint Festival. With a line-up headlined by one of the world's favourite veteran hip hop duos and also featuring Pretty Lights, Foster The People and STS9, not even the ferocious storm that swept the venue over the weekend engulfing festival goers in streams of mud was going to ruin the experience for anyone.

Of course, the main highlight of the weekend was Outkast's Sunday night set featuring the exact same tracks they performed at Coachella, although this time without the disappointing technical difficulties (unless you count having the performance pushed back over an hour following the tempestuous weather). Andre 3000 and Big Boi brought in Janelle Monae once again, this time for a performance of their number one hit 'Hey Ya!' - though Janelle's part in the rendition was nothing more than dancing energetically on stage and getting the crowd moving their feet. We also got to see appearances from Killer Mike and Sleepy Brown of Dungeon Family.

The first two days had their own highlights (not least the sunny weather). Friday saw Schoolboy Q delivering a much appreciated set to a crowd that knew what they wanted, Big Gigantic further cemented their inexhaustible talent at playing live and Matt & Kim drew a fantastic party crowd. The following day brought some energetic hip hop from J. Cole and Foster The People were unsurprisingly popular with Saturday's revellers.

So, despite the fields of mud and not to mention missing out on Chance The Rapper as he was replaced by Riff Raff at the last minute, Outkast did not manage to disappoint their Georgia crowd and it looks like they are back on the must-see list for the remainder of their 2014 festival dates.
