Kenny Wormald needed a dance double for the infamous warehouse dance scene in the 'Footloose' remake.

The 26-year-old actor has taken on the role of Ren McCormack in the remake of the classic 80s movie and while the new film features the lead character in an extended dance sequence similar to that of the original, Kenny had to give way to a dance double for some of the "gymnastic stuff".

He explained: "We called it the angry dance. There's some crazy stuff going on in that scene - some gymnastic stuff that is a little bit from the original and they wouldn't let me do some of it. It's just when it comes to the death-defying stunts - flips and stuff - that's not me. They were like, 'I don't think so. Sit down, Kenny!' "

At auditions Kenny used his own Boston accent rather than Ren's Chicago Twang in order to stand out from the crowd and bosses were so impressed they changed the character accordingly.

He admitted to MTV news: "They went into casting thinking it would be the same [as the original]. But when I went in there, I wanted to be different than the other guys. I knew it was a kid from up north going down south, so I made a decision to use my Boston accent in The Audition. As I kept getting closer and closer to booking it, they never said don't use the accent. And then I booked it and they said, 'We're going to change it from Chicago to Boston.' They dug it."
