British rockers Foals are to give a career talk to teenagers about working in the music industry.

The musicians are taking part in a new education initiative by bosses behind London's famed Royal Albert Hall venue, and they will give a talk to a group of music students from London in February (13) ahead of their two gigs there the following month (Mar13).

The band will also host a music workshop for the youngsters, while their manager, Peter Mensch, who has worked with Metallica and Red Hot Chili Peppers, will give a talk as well.

Frontman Yannis Philippakis says, "The Royal Albert Hall suggested we get involved in their education program to supplement our gigs there and we thought it sounded like a grand idea. I would have loved a similar opportunity when I was younger - I had a pretty weird taste in music but always looked to my favourite bands for inspiration. It will be a fun day and hopefully the kids will learn something of use."

The Foals' talk and music workshop will take place at the Royal Albert Hall on 12 February (13).
