Ellie Goulding went to hospital thinking she was having a heart attack after meeting Florence Welch.
The 'Starry Eyed' singer - who won the Critics' Choice Award at the BRITs - had a panic attack after meeting chart toppers Florence and the Machine because she suddenly realised she could be as successful as her idol.
She said: "I did a show with Florence and the Machine, afterwards she came up to me, squeezed me and said she kept playing my song over and over again. So I did the usual, 'Oh my god, that's great', very casual, - but there were two people at the same time.
"One was me going 'Argh' and the other was really calm. They clashed that night. These two people bumped into each other, and it was a disaster. I ended up feeling really upset and weird, it felt like having a heart attack. I actually went to A+E."
The 23-year-old star has also revealed she is glad she decided to drop out of her final year at Kent University in order to pursue her music career.
She said: "I couldn't connect with anyone there. I launched myself into this life of going running and doing everything by myself. I shared a house with six people, and I think they thought I was a bit mad. I was either out running all the time or making weird carb-free meals, full of seeds and stuff."
