The big-screen adaptation of RUDYARD KIPLING's The Jungle Book has been voted the best-loved animated movie of all time.

The 1967 children's favourite beat off competition from a series of contemporary contenders like Toy Story, Finding Nemo, The Lion King and Shrek in poll of 3,500 movie fans by British video rental chain BLOCKBUSTERS.

The film, featuring family sing-alongs THE BARE NECESSITIES and I WANNA BE LIKE YOU, was the last production to be personally overseen by Walt Disney, who died in 1966.

The Bare Necessities, performed by BALOO the bear and MOWGLI, was also voted best song from an animated movie.

Popular Disney creation Mickey Mouse was crowned best animated character of all time, followed by WOODY from TOY STORY and DONKEY from SHREK.
