Nic and Jules are a married couple and they have two kids, Joni and Laser who refer to them as 'moms'. Both women were artificially inseminated with sperm from a donor and as the kids grow up, a now 15 year old laser starts to wonder who his biological father is and what he's like. Being only 15 he asks his older sister Joni to investigate into who the donor was.
What, or should I say who they discover is Paul, an easy going restaurateur whose certainly accustomed to living the bachelor life-style. Both kids are draw to the man who's very different to both their moms. As Paul, Joni and Laser bond, they find themselves all coming closer together as a family unit and family ties are redefined.
Growing up with two mums might not be the most conventional of family units but it's not to say that it doesn't work.
