Following the mysterious death of his girlfriend, Merrin Williams (Juno Temple), Ig Perrish (Daniel Redcliffe) wakes up from with a hangover and no recollection of the night before. When horns begin to steadily grow out of his head, and the local people begin to believe that Perrish is guilty of raping and murdering Williams, Perrish decides that the time has come to find his girlfriend's killer, once and for all - so that she may finally rest in peace, and he can save both his name and his soul from eternal damnation.
Following the original casting of Shia LaBeouf in the role of Perrish, Radcliffe took on the role and adopted an unusual American accent. Known for his portrayal as the titular character in the 'Harry Potter' series, Radcliffe has gone on to perform on the stage, and in the Hammer Films horror movie, 'The Woman in Black'. The film is based on the 2010 novel of the same name by writer Joe Hill and has been adapted for the screen by Keith Bunin in his first feature film credit. It has been directed by French director Alexandre Aja, best known for the 2006 horror film, 'The Hills Have Eyes'.
