Mike Goldwing is 12-years-old and lives in Florida with an enviably cool family. Both his father and his grandfather Frank are astronauts, but unfortunately, despite much effort on the part of Mike's mother to re-unite them, they barely speak to each other at all these days. Frank remains bitter that he was unable to go on the last moon mission after his son - a baby at the time - contracted chicken pox, but now that son has a chance of a liftime to re-visit the moon with a group of other NASA employees. They're due to be trained by the veteran spacemen of yore, but Mike's father is certain Frank won't be there. Then Mike's friends convince him to re-unite his family - and also to try and get on board the rocket themselves. Needless to say, they are discovered by Frank, but a mishap causes the rocket to launch anyway with just Frank and the kids on board. This looks to be an adventure that nobody will ever forget.
