Dragon Lord

Dragon Lord Review

Another typically serious-meets-silly entry into Jackie Chan's body of work, Dragon Lord covers the twin issues of stolen Chinese artifacts and bizarre Chinese team sports. The latter is the more interesting part of the movie, beginning with a rugby-like game that has hundreds of competitors climbing a rickety bamboo cone to grab a ball on top. Later, Chan and pals engage in a cross between soccer, badminton, and hacky sack. None of it has anything to do with the threadbare plot, but it's great eye candy. Chan's stunts take a back seat, however, to ridiculous humor, such as two guys trying to conceal their urinating into a stream from nearby children.

Aka Long xiao ye.
