Chi Girl Review
By Christopher Null
A minor indie sensation way back in 1999, Chi Girl is a rom-mock (romantic mockumentary) that never quite becomes as clever as it would like to be. The film follows one Chicagoess named Heather (played by writer/director/producer Heidi Van Lier), as she first espouses her theories about love (in a nutshell: men are sex-driven pigs, any of whom would gladly have sex with her at her request), but can't seem to find a piggish-enough guy to prove it. (It doesn't help that she's a loudmouth freak with horrible eyeglasses.) The twist comes when the cameraman falls in love with Heather... oh, the humanity.
