FEDERATION: ROUND 02

The incredible Federation: Round 02 landed with galactic force on Saturday 4th May, sending the mad fer it clubbers of Leeds into frenzy. A lively and colourful parade, made up of stilt walkers, bongo bashers, whistle blowers and party revellers set tongues wagging as they made their way through streets of Leeds to Bar Fibre, whereupon the carnival collected and lead the awed crowd to the scene of what has to be the most exciting club night Leeds has seen yet.

The golden streams of light leading to Granary Wharfs Dark Arches provided a glimpse of the visual glamour that is Federation. Inside, the Dark Arches had been transformed into a breathtaking array of loud, proud and in yer face dcor. A huge silhouette of the by now well-recognised Federation logo, UV glow in the dark spiral designs and massive plumes of delicate white materialadorned the dense original Victorian brickwork of the Arches, which helped to give the underground, industrial feel, essential in its appeal. Gigantic spiked spheres and mirror balls graced the ceilings; huge metal cages containing professional dancers, dance podiums, raised platforms and, of course, the massive mainstay stageall contributed well to provide an absolute spectacle to the already round-eyed, gasping crowd.

The live stage shows, provided by One Love entertainment wowed the people with a menagerie of the weird and the wonderful, in the form of huge penguins, acrobats, live autopsies, fire eating, and mad scientists who freely used angle grinders to shock and enthral- a touch of pure genius.

Funkin, pumpin house and chunky vocals featured the Crash Album tour (who handed out free CDs), graced the ears of the crazy, funky and downright kookily dressed party people.

The tunes were received with the crowd going crazy as they recognised and grooved to their favourites. The atmosphere was incredible with over nine hundred pairs of arms and hands being flung in the air, pointing towards the DJs,truly expressing the clubbers ethos Bring it On!. The stunning lasers and lighting systems, which had been elaborately honed to perfection by experts 52nd Street, put the feel-good cherry on top of the clubbing cake.

For those revellers who needed a break now and again, a brand new outside area had been installed, which included seating, tables, and outside heating to provide an extremely comfortable chill out. The inside had also been decked outwith additional seating, which proved to bea verypopular amongst the guests.

Overall, Federation: Round 02 proved to be a spectacular feast of a clubbing experience. The buzz from the event has been incredible and still going strong, with everyone who attendedsaying that they had an amazing, brilliant and banging night. Lucky for us, then, that the third inline ofsuccession to the Federation throne is already on its way.
