SUNceBeat

Preview of SUNceBeat 4

The summer is starting and with some amazing festivals occurring this year, the creators of Southport Weekender have set up a true gem for us enjoy in 2013! After four years of playing and experimenting, we have the scintillating SUNceBeat 4 rapidly approaching, held for a second year at the Garden Tisno in Croatia.

You have to hand it to the SUNceBeat crew, the artist line up this year is AWESOME! On the bill are Detroit legend Moodyman, The Mushroom Jazz pioneer Mark Farina, the truly brilliant and unmistakable Chicago house pioneer Derek Carter, the worldwide sounds of Giles Peterson, another true legend of dance music Timmy Regisford, New Yorker Joe Claussell, the mighty Kerri Chandler, the brilliant Kenny Dope, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Osunlade, Karizma, Vakula, Nicholas, Franck Roger, Atjazz, Lay-far, Jimpster, Mad Mats and not forgetting the residents who really add to the flavour of the event, Kev Beadle, Phil Asher, Gavin Kendrick, Ronnie Herel, Andy Ward, Souldynamic, Luis Radio, Sarah Favouritizm, Terry Jones, Martin Lodge, Lil Stevie, Mark Stone, Master D and Steve Butler as well as Gregory Porter playing live outside on the main stage.

You can't always guarantee the sun in the UK but in Croatia you get glorious weather, fantastic beaches, great people and a brilliant site to party together. The Garden Tisno is set up for an enchanting experience, with Funktion 1 soundsystem and excellent visuals, to allow for dancing through the night in your swimwear, enjoying the crystal waters, messing about on the beach and making friends for life. There's the great Barbarella's after hours outdoor club to enjoy, Tiki bar, restaurants and cafes too.

Truly a highlight for many are, not surprisingly, the Argonaughty boat parties where you can enjoy great music with a bunch of like minded people, drifting around the beautiful Dalmatian. The boat party line up for SUNceBeat 4 is INCREDIBLE! You've got Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, Terry Jones and Steve Butler on the 'Welcome Boat' and Kenny Dope, Giles Peterson, Kev Beadle, Gavin Kendrick on the 'Roller Boogie Boat Party!' Boat parties are running throughout the week with trips to the wonderful Kornati Islands. There's no doubt the experience on the Adriatic Sea is a wonderful one to be had at SUNceBeat and this year is lining up to be the best ever!

SUNceBeat 4 is not just a brilliant party but a holiday too. The environment caters for families wanting to escape and there's amazing places to visit like Zadar and Split as well as amazing natural beauty sites to explore. The fact that the festival lasts for a week means there's plenty of time to soak up the vibes and go home feeling refreshed. What I love about SUNceBeat, due to the intimate nature and the size of the event, is that you really get to meet everyone, up close and personal; there's no exclusion, its total unity.

Judging by the ticket sales this year the word about SUNceBeat 4 2013 is spreading. Four years on, it's certainly clear that it is truly establishing itself as premier event to be at in the summer. It's hard not to have a good time at Garden Tisno with the great weather and excellent set up, but what stands out with SUNceBeat 4 is the remarkable line up and quality trademark Southport Weekender brings to the table. SPW 49 was brilliant this year so for those wanting a similar dose, SUNceBeat 4 will definitely deliver. It is ready and waiting to party all over again and is in one of the best places on the planet to do it! C'mon!
