Farrah Fawcett's troubled son REDMOND O'NEAL shaved his head in a moment of solidarity with his cancer-stricken mother, after chemotherapy caused her hair to fall out.
The former Charlie's Angels star was diagnosed with anal cancer back in 2006, and it has since spread to her liver.
The gruelling treatment she has undergone has cost her most of her famous blonde hair, prompting Redmond to go bald with his mum, shortly before he was jailed for drug possession back in April (09).
Redmond's dad, actor Ryan O'Neal, reveals, "When she lost her hair, he shaved his head. It was the two of them. You didn't know which one was which."
In documentary footage chronicling the actress' cancer fight, the 24-year-old is reportedly shown lying bedside a sleeping Fawcett and crying - after a judge granted him a visit with his desperately sick mother.
O'Neal adds, "They were lying together. He just wanted to see her, hold her, he wanted to apologise. He's so full of shame for his mistakes. She forgives him."
The video diary detailing Fawcett's fight against the deadly disease is due to air on U.S. TV on Friday (15May09).
The younger O'Neal entered a year-long rehabilitation programme last week (30Apr09) in a bid to have the two drug possession charges wiped off his record. If he fails to complete the rehab stint, he faces up to four years in prison - following arrests in September (08) and April (09).
