Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz and his wife Ashlee Simpson have welcomed their first child, it has been confirmed.
A baby boy, named Bronx Mowgli Wentz, was born in Los Angeles on Thursday night, People magazine reports.
Singer Ashlee, 24, gave birth to a son weighing 7 lbs, 11 oz.
"Ashlee, Pete and baby Bronx are all healthy and happy, and thank everyone for their well wishes!" a spokesperson was quoted as saying.
The musicians were married in May and speculation had been rife that Simpson - the younger sister of actress and pop star Jessica Simpson - was pregnant.
Though Wentz, 29, initially denied that his bride was expecting, a statement on his website later revealed that Simpson is indeed with child.
"While many have speculated about this, we wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child," they wrote on friendsorenemies.com at the time.
"This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family."
Fall Out Boy's new album Folie A Deux is due to be released on December 16th.
