Evander Holyfield may have just entered the Big Brother house but he could be on his way out after offensively comparing homosexuality to having a "handicap."
Former heavyweight boxer Evander Holyfield recently entered the UK's Celebrity Big Brother house as a contestant (Friday 3rd Jan).
However, the 51 year-old might have a shorter stay then planned as he caused outrage for comments he made when talking to fellow contestant Luisa Zissman.
Holyfield has been accused of making homophobic slurs when comparing homosexuality to having a "handicap".
Zissman, who was a runner-up on 'The Apprentice', was asking the four-time heavyweight champion of the world about gay boxers.
She said, "I think it's really bad that no-one stands up and says it in the sporting industries. I think it's good to be open about that because it's normal."
But Holyfield did not agree when he replied, "What would be good about it? That ain't normal."
He continued, "It is a choice, come on, that ain't the way nobody is made. If you were born and your leg were turned this way, what do you do, you go to the doctor and get it fixed back right."
Zissman seemed to try and stop the conversation in its tracks but Evander carried on saying, "All I'm trying to tell you, you know how handicap people are born?"
"You can't say because they are born that way you can't move that...Yes it is a choice."
He concluded, "C'mon, how can you not say you ain't gay unless you sleeping with the opposite sex?"
Holyfield immediately got called to the diary room where he was warned that his "views will be extremely offensive to many people."
However, a warning wasn't enough as twitter has gone crazy over Channel 5 not giving him the boot straight away.
Openly gay pop-culture icon, Boy George, took to twitter to voice his opinon, "Shame, I had such admiration for Mr Evander Holyfield, he seemed dignified and I was sure he was a cool, smart, giant!"
Adding, "At customs there should be a huge sign! Welcome to Britain, racism, sexism, homophobia and bad hair are not tolerated!"
Although he hasn't been shown the door, Holyfield is now up for eviction with Zissman after failing to complete a series of challenges.
