Cult Welsh folk group GORKY'S ZYGOTIC MYNCI have split after 15 years together. The band - comprising of frontman Euros Childs, guitarist RICHARD JAMES, violinist MEGAN CHILDS and drummer PETE RICHARDSON - announced they were going their separate ways on their website over the weekend (26-28MAR06). A statement on their website reads, "Gorky's Zygotic Mynci have decided to call it a day and split up. "Richard, Megan, Euros and Pete would like to thank everyone who came to the gigs and bought the records over the years. "The re-issues of the first three Gorky's albums - PATIO, TATAY, and BWYD TIME - will go ahead as planned and will be released before late 2006." Euros Childs formed the band in 1991 in their Carmarthen, Wales school when he was just 15. He enrolled his sister Megan in the group in 1994, and Richardson replaced original drummer EUROS ROWLANDS in 2000.
