Eric Clapton is laughing off reports of his retirement by signing a new contract with his record label of 25 years.

The loyal rocker signed with Reprise Records in 1981 and has just signed up to work with executives there for the rest of his career.

The 60-year-old says, "Being a musician is a constant state of discovery, and I look forward to new recordings and everything else that is becoming possible with today's technology.

"I am happy to continue my relationship with Reprise Records. We've done a lot in the past 25 years, and there's still plenty of music yet to be made."
