Veteran entertainer Engelbert Humperdinck was hailed as the king of Las Vegas on Wednesday (20Jul11) as he received a key to the city.
The pop singer, who has regularly sold out Sin City shows throughout his career, received the honour from Mayor Carolyn Goodman, who officially declared Wednesday Humperdinck Day.
The festivities continued at the Las Vegas Walk of Stars, where officials unveiled Humperdinck's very own sidewalk plaque.
Describing his pride, the star says in a statement, "Ever since my dear friend Dean Martin presented me at the Riviera Hotel in 1968 my love affair with this wonderful city was cemented. To join an illustrious group of my contemporaries is both humbling and exciting.
"I thank Las Vegas for all that it has taught me throughout the decades that I have been fortunate to tread the many stages around this town."
The 75 year old will kick off the first of four concerts on the Las Vegas Strip on Thursday (21Jul11).
