Even though in today's culture it is very rare for a celebrity not to be on at least one social media site, one of Hollywood's most talented young actresses, Emma Stone, has stayed away from the likes of Twitter and Instagram because she doesn't have a "need to be liked."

During an interview for Hollywood Sessions with The Los Angeles Times and EPIX, Stone elaborated on her decision to avoid joining the social media craze, and even expressed confusion at other celebrities' desire to gain an online interaction.

"It's that need to be liked, that need to be seen, that need to be validated, in a way, through no one that you know," she explained. "And so people ask the question about fame, or what it feels like, and it seems like everybody knows what that feels like. It seems like everyone's cultivating their lives on Instagram or on different forms of social media, and what pictures looks best of their day."

The 'Birdman' actress added, "It's this very modern 'keeping up with the Joneses.' It's almost impossible to find someone that's not, in some way, on the Internet."

After going on this lengthy rant, Stone laughed as she forgot what the original question was, showing that the subject of social media is something she can debate for hours. "Every time I talk about social media, I forget where I'm going. I go into a rabbit hole," she said.

Stone most recently starred alongside Zack Galafianakis, Michael Keaton and Edward Norton in the critically acclaimed black comedy flick 'Birdman.'
