Rapper Eminem's childhood home has been demolished by officials in Michigan.
The Detroit house was ravaged by a fire earlier this month (Nov13), and had to be destroyed, according to the state law.
Announcing their decision to level the place in a statement released last week (ends22Nov13), representatives at Michigan Land Bank said, "The condition of the property post-fire presents a safety hazard that the Land Bank is responsible for removing. The goal is to demolish and clean up the site, so neighborhood safety and order can be restored."
Members of a wrecking crew knocked the house down on Monday (25Nov13).
The Berzerk hitmaker featured pictures of the property on his albums The Marshall Mathers Lp and new release The Marshall Mathers Lp 2. His mother bought the place in 1987. It was foreclosed in 2001 and taken over by the Michigan Land Bank.
