Eminem's TV commercial dedicated to his hometown of Detroit, Michigan has been honoured at the 2011 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.
The rapper teamed up with bosses at car firm Chrysler to film the advertisement, which depicts him driving through the beleaguered motor city behind the wheel of a new Chrysler 200.
The tribute, set to Eminem's 8 Mile theme Lose Yourself, landed a haul of five awards at the annual advertising festival in France, receiving honours for Best Direction, Best Script, Best Use of Music, Best Automotive Commercial and Best Editing.
Eminem wasn't the only hip-hop star feted at the event - the campaign for Jay Z's memoir Decoded, run in association with Microsoft search engine Bing, took home the Integrated Grand Prix and Titanium Lion on Saturday (25Jun11).
