Nameless, parentless and with virtually nothing to lose, he poses the perfect person to eliminate whoever needs to be eliminated. He's almost impossible to defeat, with agility and co-ordination most acute, a powerful sense of logic and being fiercely strong; this is a man that no ordinary person can kill or - indeed - capture. His unique abilities become a target for a massive corporation hellbent on forming the most powerful army in the world, by unlocking the genetic code of Agent 47 - and the other Agents if they can find them. When they discover a woman with little knowledge of her past and ignorant of her superhuman powers, they think they've hit the jackpot. Agent 47 is no normal human being. Having been born into The Agent Program with a barcode tattooed on the back of his head, he was trained up to be among the greatest hitmen in the world. With astonishing strength, infinite intelligence and the superhuman agility, he is impossible to kill - and ever harder to detain, with his incredible ability to tactically undo any situation in which he finds himself trapped (though that's not a word in this guy's vocabulary). Predictably, he is much desirable as a soldier and there's one organisation that will to everything within their power to understand the genetic engineering of Agent 47 in a bid to form an army to rival all others. Along the way he meets another agent with the same abilities, though she has no idea where she comes from and is desperate to uncover the secrets of her past.

Water and Power are twin brothers nicknamed so by their workaholic father; a blue collar worker at the Department of Water & Power of Los Angeles who insisted that you couldn't have one without the other. While Water is rising to the top in his illustrious political career, Power is caught up in a web of criminal deception as a cop in the LAPD, trying to keep the peace in the mean streets and struggling to work out whether he's doing a good job, or whether he is just like the gun-toting felons he's bringing in. After a particularly traumatic night, the pair reunite and find themselves in a motel room where they must join forces to survive - Water and Power have so many differences, but can they find common ground so they can work together just like their father always said they must?

Donald Faison, I assume, was on hiatus from his steady television gig on Scrubs and needed a project to bridge the gap. He ambles his way through this laughless dud as Leo, a marijuana-addicted employee of Next Day Air who mistakenly delivers a cardboard box filled with cocaine to the inept bank robbers in apartment 302 instead of the waiting drug dealers in 303. That's a tough floor.

There is one reason and one reason only to see "Training Day" -- watching Denzel Washington sink his teeth into a charismatic role as a chest-thumping, cigarette-chopping, gold chain-wearing, hydraulic low rider-driving, street punk-pounding narcotics cop who is crooked, proud and high on power.
That's not to say the movie doesn't have some other merits -- imposing permanent-sunset photography, a slickly menacing ghetto atmosphere, a strong performance by Ethan Hawke as a patrol officer having his mettle tested for a promotion to Washington's unit of vigilante detectives. But the draw here is seeing a great actor, known for playing roles of incorruptible integrity, go bad.
At once droll and incredibly intimidating, Washington is a knockout as Alonzo Harris, a detective who believes in street justice and enjoys metering out a bit of it himself a couple times a day. His philosophy -- or at least part of it, for the movie is thick with meaty moral dialogue -- is that "it takes a wolf to catch a wolf." And Alonzo fancies himself the Big Bad Wolf.
