Music legend Elvis Presley is to be immortalised in bronze, when a statue is erected in Hawaii this August (07) to mark the 30th anniversary of the singer's death. The life-sized memorial, depicting the SUSPICIOUS MINDS crooner in his iconic bejewelled jumpsuit, will stand on the site of Presley's historic 1973 Aloha From Hawaii concert. Honolulu Mayor MUFI HANNEMANN says, "Elvis will forever remain a part of Hawaii's identity. "From his film, BLUE HAWAII, to his 1961 benefit performance to raise money for the USS Arizona Memorial to the historic concert which the sculpture commemorates." Presley died on 16 August 1977, aged 42.
