Elvis Presley would have been a great actor if his manager hadn't restricted his movie career to terrible films, according to Dennis Hopper.

The BLUE VELVET star befriended Elvis when he first made his mark in Hollywood, and he's convinced THE KING could have been a massive talent.

He says, "COLONEL PARKER led him down a bad path. He would only let him do movies for a million, so he only did those musicals.

"They were fun to look at but he was a much better actor than that. I think he would have really excelled in his acting. I wish he had done more serious work."
