Elvis Presley has topped finance group FORBES' annual list of top-earning
dead stars for the fourth year running.
The rocker, who died 26 years ago (16AUG77), has earned more than $40
million (GBP25 million) in the past 12 months - thanks mainly to the ongoing
success of his 30 #1 HITS retrospective.
Second and third on the 2003 list are PEANUTS cartoon creator CHARLES M
SHULTZ and Lord Of The Rings author JRR TOLKIEN.
Former Beatles rockers John Lennon and George Harrison are fourth and
fifth respectively on the list.
