Elvis Presley is still The King of the UK charts - the iconic singer has spent more weeks in the British music charts than any other band or artist, according to new book British Hit Singles and Albums.

The SUSPICIOUS MINDS hitmaker has spent a total of 2,574 weeks in the British music charts, ahead of closest rival SIR Cliff Richard who has only notched up 1,982 weeks.

Legendary British bands Queen and THE Beatles took third and fourth place respectively, ahead of Madonna, who is the highest ranking woman, with 1,660 weeks putting her at number five.

SIR Elton John, The Shadows, Michael Jackson, David Bowie and Irish rockers U2 complete the top 10.
