Sir Elton John says vinyl ''sounds better'' than CDs and streaming.
The 'Tiny Dancer' hitmaker gushed about his favourite audio format after being named Record Store Day Legend ahead of the annual event on April 22.
Speaking to the BBC, he mused: ''It does sound better. I know people say it doesn't, but it does. I've been around long enough to know. I've been in so many studios, I've made so many records. It just sounds better.''
Sir Elton will release a new version of his '17-11-10' live album to celebrate the 10th Record Store Day and is excited for fans to hear the re-worked LP because he's convinced it's ''the best live album'' ever.
He added: ''It's probably one of the best live albums of all time. I'm never one to say good things about myself, but it is pretty fabulous.''
The news comes as sales of vinyl LPs reached three million in the UK in 2016 which is the highest figure they'e seen in 25 years.
What's more, over one week in December 2016, vinyl shifted more units than digital downloads for the first time in history, according to the Entertainment Retailers Association (ERA).
Meanwhile, Sir Elton recently dished out advise Ed Sheeran on his career and weight.
The wise music star was horrified Ed gained almost 50lb during his hiatus from music but was delighted the flame-haired singer listened to him and shed pounds.
The 70-year-old music legend said: ''He was so omnipresent. I said, 'Ed even I'm sick of you.
Go away.' And he did. He just went to the Far East with his girlfriend, had a great time, put on a lot of weight, ate food and came back.
''One thing I said to him when he went, I said, 'Don't put on weight', because he is prone to put on weight like I am.
''And he came back heavy, but he lost it all for the album.
He just went away and had a great time. And it was the most brilliant thing he could have done, because it refreshes your soul - not that I ever did it.''
