SIR Elton John will be the guest of honour at a special christening for his godson BROOKLYN BECKHAM and his brother ROMEO.

REAL MADRID soccer ace David Beckham and his wife, former SPICE GIRL Victoria Beckham, have had a chapel built in the grounds of their $4.5 million (GBP2.5 million) mansion in Hertfordshire, England, especially for the ceremony - which is set to take place at Christmas (DEC04).

The CANDLE IN THE WIND singer says, "I'm definitely going to see David and Victoria over Christmas because there's a christening happening isn't there? I'm taking my godfather duties very seriously."

The 57-year-old has already allocated part of his will to Brooklyn, five, and his partner, David Furnish, is expected to be named two-year-old ROMEO's godfather, along with VICTORIA's brother CHRISTIAN. Victoria's sister LOUISE will be godmother.

An insider in the Beckham camp says, "David and Victoria had the chapel built for a special occasion like this and what could be more special? They know they couldn't have them baptised in a church because it would just turn into a media frenzy. It will also be a bit of a Christmas knees up as well."

The chapel has a white angel perched above its ornate entrance and can hold up to twenty guests who will also include Elizabeth Hurley, Victoria's former bandmate Emma Bunton, and ENGLAND soccer manager SVEN GORAN ERIKSSON.
