Rocker SIR Elton John has become Las Vegas, Nevada's unofficial tourism ambassador after finding Sin City to be a desert paradise while playing there in 2004.

The Brit signed up to perform 91 shows at Vegas' Caesar's Palace over three years last year (04), and after playing 41 in 2004, he can't wait to get back up on stage there.

He says, "Vegas is more exciting now than it's ever been. I was there one night and I was playing and there was Gladys Knight over the road, there was Sting, there was Bb King, there was John Mayer.

"There were about six or seven other people in town on one night. There's everything you want to see from Cirque Du Soleil right through to blues, to R+B, soul, the great stands from Johnny Mathis and people like that are still singing there.

"It's got everything and the best food in America now, so it's a great town."
